Last week I got nothing to do  after finishing my homework.  Got grounded. Not allowed to watch TV, not allowed to play tablet and had to wash my own school shoes and baju..

Started from a poem that Cikgu gave me to memorise. Cikgu choose me and 5 others to memorise  the poem for a contest. Its about a boy, Xiao Lee, who have a "没关系 " attitude.  Everything he also say "never mind". As to do clean up , do review, exam get only 10 marks ...he also say "没关系".

Mamarazzi  told  me  to practise  memorising the poem but I also 没关系 attitude.

On the day Cikgu asked us to say out loud, i told Cikgu I don't want to join the contest lah coz too lazy hard to memorise.

When Mamarazzi  got to know about it she was angry at my没关系 attitude.  Grounded me say no tv no tablet  till my attitude  improve.  After all no tv no tablet should be 没关系 for me mah.

A day or two after that, she asked me help he to fetch something  from downstairs.  I went and complain to Papa say she always ask me do this do that.

That's  when she decided to  throw back all the chore like folding my clothes, washing my school baju and washing my dishes  all back to me. No more  lending me her books to read.

Alamak.... jialat lo. After a few days i got bored. Been trying to be good. Nothing to do  so I decided to write a story  to entertain myself lo.

Nice or not...short short only. Four pages only.

I try "bodek" Mamarazzi to read my story. Say I wanna sell RM1.

Mamarazzi  read say sound like Rapunzel  Story...copycat geh...nobody wanna buy la like that...

But but but ..story maybe similar to  Rapunzel but I wrote it using my own words wor...tak laku ka?

Went for a Hari Raya open house the week before this. Yummy food but I was too busy playing to eat much.

Then time to go home lor.  Mamarazzi asked hungry or not? Wanna eat what?  I said wanna eat noodle...pan mee..

Mamarazzi friend told her some where nearby there is a restaurant that sells delicious noodle. Famous for their Ee Fu Mee.

Thanks to Waze, we found the place quite easily.  Not bad wor. Not pricey.

Ordered the noodles that we wanted. But have to wait for quite some time leh.

This is coz the Sifu fry/cook the noodles as per  order instead of in bulk or pre-cooked.

Papa's Char Keoy Teow arrived first. He ate and said not bad wor.

Then come my cantonese fried noodles.

Followed by Mamarazzi 's Ee Fu Mee. She said this Pete recommend  manyak bagus wor. Sedap.

According to Pete, the owner bring the Ee Fu Mee  all the way from Penang. No joke leh.

Lemme try first ya...

Yummy...manyak bagus...I like.

Don't waste leh. Gravy I also slurp up. Can order one more ka?

Lucky, Papa say can. Hehehe..

Okay, here is the address of the Danny Penang Tua Pan that Uncle Pete recommended to us :  11, jalan 9/62a, bandar sri menjalara, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur.

Do check their Facebook to see when is their business  day and hours as the owner is quite active in Facebook  leh. They  seems to update  there.

Mamarazzi's Minced Meat & Chives Chai Kueh (Vegetables Dumplings)

Half a week gone. Ready for a laugh?

She made Chai Kueh last week. As usually la...when in the wet market, she sees nice and fresh green vegetables, she beh tahan will go and buy one. Buy, buy buy...but slow when it comes to cooking,

Last weeken when she was digging in the fridge, she found a bunch of Chives(daun kucai) that is going to rot if not used soon. What to do ah? Wanna fry egg too much pulak.

Okay okay ...make Chives Chai Kueh la. Not sure what's the ingredients for the Chives Chai Kueh coz usually when she bought from the Pasar Malam, its Papa who ate it geh.

Pakai hentam la...just stir fry some mushroom, minced meat, dried shrimps and chives together with a bit of oil, salt and pepper should be okay gua.

Then dig dig dig...ALAMAK.....what happened to the packet of Tang Mein Fern(flour). Thought still have some at home geh...where did it went?

Errrr.......checked in a blog...saw one lady used Rice Flour instead of Tang Mien Fern. Okay la....hentam . Just hentam 1 cup of rice flour and half cup of tapioca flour, add some oil and salt. Pour in super-duper hot water. She got a very sticky dough. Roll the dough bit by bit into round shape but not before spreading generous amount of flour on the table.

Used a cup as cutter to cut the round shape. Stuffed the  ingredients into the "skin" and seal it.

Hmm....now the problem. No banana leaves to layer wor...how ah...but we have abundance of daun Kadok in the garden. Plucked some. Again pakai hentam and put everything into the wok and steam la.

"Oh my kucing.....", she said. The whole house stinksreeks smells of daun Kadok after like 15minutes of steaming.  She is not particularly like the smell of daun kadok but Papa is okay with it.

Anyway...when the steaming is all done and the kueh is cooked, it was Papa who finished off the whole tray of Chai Kueh. When Mamarazzi asked whether the Chives Chai Kueh tasted okay ka...he was surprised...huh? got Chives in it meh?

I think Papa had invented new way of eating Chai Kueh. He ate it with the Daun Kadok too.

Nothing left for me when I came back from school But I don't mind la. I get to eat mango. I love to eat mango and I discovered that the seed is the sweetest part of a mango.

Once up a time......we got some Salt 'n Koffie Gift Vouchers. Since it was expiring this month end...fast fast go us it up lor.

First time going into the place. Wah ! Unique deco leh....got all sorts of table and chairs for us to choose from. Got this looooong bed type of chair...then got like kitchen counter type....got like Bali type...even have a sewing machine table leh.

Chammm.....very very cham...forgotten the name of the cake and drinks. But Mamarazzi said this piece of cake have strong coffee/chocolaty taste wor.

Her cup of cappuccino was pretty strong too. I "sapu-ed" her piece of biscuit.

Papa had ice something something.

But I like mine the most. Hot chocolate that comes with some marshmallows. I love it. The marshmallows melted very fast. I said I want some more. Papa told me to go and asked for more la but I shy shy leh....so tarak ask lo.

How was the verdict? Well, the prices that they are charging, they certainly put in a lot of effort to make it good for the customers.

Oh ya....on an unrelated matter, Mamarazzi found out why people willing to queue long for the dessert at Hong Mei Restaurant, Damansara Jaya liao. That day she tried the Bubur Caca....wah RM2 but a lot of things in it leh. Got sweet potatoes, yam, sago and beans. Taste not that sweet too. Just nice. The lady boss said only Monday, Wednesday and Friday have this dessert wor.

Cikgu say, we must wave Jalur Gemilang on 31st August because it's "Hari Kebangsaan" . It's a national day here. It is the day that The Federation of Malaya got its independence from British colonial rule back in 1957. This leads to the forming of  MALAYSIA on 16 September 1963.

Three days ago, we had a coloring contest in school. Coloring our National Flag. Not sure who is the winner but I sure had fun doing it.

It's also a long weekend here. For those who are traveling or staying in town, be safe and be strong. Don't drink and drive ya...unless it is coffee.

Last weekend did some cleaning and when Papa came back from work we kinda last minute decided to go off some where. North East West South. North won. Traffic was heavy but not that bad .

Fuih...finally arrived. Walk-in but luckily there are rooms available. Next....must cari makan. Whole day didn't really eat much leh. Only a bit of noodle in the morning .

Mamarazzi's mind numbed liao. Where to eat ah? Pakai hentam go back to Kafe Sun Yoon Wah la. We visited the place back in 2012 and the food was good.

This round didn't ordered any Snow Beer. Just plain Chinese Tea. Wah....they even give the whole thermos of hot water for us to self service refill. Mamarazzi said very long time she had not seen this type of thermos. The top looks like a knight's "helmet".

 Order Blanched Octopus

 Huh.....not noodles ah?

Steamed Frog with Chicken Essence. But Mamarazzi bluff me say it's chicken .

 Next Marmite Mantis Prawns

 Pork Intestine.

I didn't feel like eating rice much. Papa said Okay lah...order noodles for me la

My plate of Wat Tan Hor.

Hooray! Got noodles liao.

How was the food there? Dunno la...maybe we were tired or maybe it was the Chef's night off ...the taste just was...let's just say Mamarazzi's expectation is a bit higher than that. Price wise...needless to say is different from what it used to be la.

Wah lau eh.....the dinner was too many dishes leh. Can't finish. Had to tapau back to the hotel to continue. But before that, Mamarazzi recalled Auntie Claire visited a place called Kinta River Front which is situated opposite of Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites. She wanna go there la . Saw in Auntie Claire's blog like there are many things to see there wor.

Arrived there....wah...long weekend. So many people there. Saw the place have lovely lighted trees like in the i-City. Wanna cross the bridge also full of people leh. Sorry ya...photo is blur coz can't stop in the middle of the bridge to snap photo. Too many people moving around. Later kena scold baru tau.

Opposite the river, saw many people riding bicycle around. I want too. Bodek Papa and Mamarazzi to let me go cycling.

They have many types of bicycles. At first Mamarazzi thought just rent one of the twin bicycle so that can cycle with me but then she cannot manage it. Just too big and tall for her.

End up each of us got a single bicycle while Papa become "guard" . Guarding our stuffs.

I choose this one. It have a light in thr front of it. But Mamarazzi's bicycle doesn't have one.

Come on... what are you waiting for? Slow coach! Catch me if you can!

Mamarazzi kept shouting for me to slow down...keep left.... look out for traffic. At first , I think we went for a wrong turn. Followed a big bicycle that turned left. It went to the back of the building and the place was very dark. There were cars parked there and there was even cars moving there. Mamarazzi was very worried.

We came out to a well lit Car Park.Saw there are some people cycling at the car park and got cars moving around. She urged me to go back to the river front.

There we had much more fun. Less danger. Only danger was to langgar other bicycles.

Yippee!!! It was fun! I wanna do it again tomorrow!

On the way back spotted this very "yeah" motorbike. Hehehe...for rent ka?

Didn't find out. Instead, we went back to the hotel . Play bubble bath lo...midnight bubble bath very syok de.

Mooncakes from Ming Yue Confectionery, Ipoh

The very next morning, Mamarazzi woke Papa and me up early. Time to go downstairs for the complimentary breakfast provided by the hotel .

Nothing much la there. The usual fare . Could be due to the hotel having full occupancy, the kitchen food were a bit messed up.

Papa took some "Half boiled" eggs, but when he cracked the eggs....it was more of "hard boiled" instead. The yolk were nearly cooked. Adui...

I created new drink..I named it "Orple Juice". A mixture of apple and orange juice. Had a light breakfast .

Off we went to buy mooncakes from Ming Yue Confectionery. We have been there last year and Mamarazzi love their Mooncakes. It's cheap and at least suit her taste buds.

From what she heard...usually when they started to sell mooncakes, the queue could be a few shops long. And if you re lucky when you come to the head of the line there will be mooncakes left for you to buy.

We arrived there around 9.30am and the queue was two shops long. A lady who was queueing behind of Mamarazzi said she came and buy the day before at 9am but when she got to the front of the queue, many types off mooncakes was out of stock already. Have to wait for the next baking session which some say in the afternoon.

A glance at the price....no wonder everyone are grabbing moon cakes from here. Where else can you get single yolk mooncakes for less than RM5? Even those sold in Pasar Malam cost more than that leh.

The lady in front of Mamarazzi bought 15 boxes! And it cost her about RM300 plus only! Mamarazzi caught mooncakes borong fever didn't buy much la...just a few only la *blush blush*. The lady in white cap busy counting Mamarazzi's purchases.

Business very good leh. Saw the old lady and the man busy folding the boxes for the shop to use.

Jeng! Jeng! Our Mooncakes.....a bit only la. Last year Mamarazzi only managed to get Red Bean Paste and Lotus Paste mooncakes as they ran out of others. This year, as she was early, she managed to grab the ones she wanted. Bought red bean paste mooncakes, lotus paste single yolk, pandan lotus paste single yolk mooncake and mixed nuts mooncakes only la.

Papa asked why never buy 4 yolks mooncakes. Mamarazzi was like "HUH?" eat yolk only ka? But now come to think of it...since the double yolk mooncakes is less than RM6..she should have bought those instead leh. Adui.....

When she cut the Single Yolk Lotus Paste mooncakes she was so surprised. She thought she took the wrong ones instead. Took mixed nuts one ka? Wah.....so generous with the melon seeds leh.

Papa said the mooncakes taste good. Not that sweet. Just nice. Would be perfect if they would roast the melon seeds first as it would be more aromatic.

Mamarazzi also cut open her Red Bean paste mooncakes. Wah....also a lot of melon seeds in it. She loves mooncakes with a lot of melon seeds. She said taste just right for her. Should have bought more.

Here is the address if you like to try out their mooncakes :-

Address: 50, Jalan Peh Kee Koh, Taman Kampar, 30250 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia
Be there early and be prepare with Plan A , Plan B and Plan C just in case they ran out of the ones you wanted. Don't waste time but choosing only when you come to the front of the queue.

EnviroHome - Body Wash, Laundry Detergent and Dish Wash Review

$

Last week,  I was surprised to find these three bottles sitting in the flower pot. Uncle Tan and Uncle SK busy making Solarised Water to drink for a healthier living . Hmmm....is it Mamarazzi making "Solarised" home cleaning products for our home use?

I opened the Body Wash.....hmmm....smell like Rosemary. Did she trimmed her Rosemary plant?

The Dish Wash Liquid had the scent of Mandarin Orange. We don't have any Mandarin Orange plant. Couldn't be the extract from the mysterious plant at the balcony. The plant is still too small.

As I was going  on to the Laundry Detergent, Mamarazzi came. She said these are the products given by EnviroHome for us to review.

EnviroHome is a home and personal care brand which provides eco-friendly products. The products are derives from natural ingredients. Its products are chemical-free, bubble free and fragrance free .

Sounds good coz as we clean ourselves and our home, we should not dirty or damage the ecology system or at least we should minimise the damage.

(Body Wash)
(Laundry Detergent)

  (Dish Wash)
Mamarazzi vetted through the list of ingredientsof the 3 bottles of cleaning products. Didn't see any red alert words  like Parabens and EDTA. Paraben or anything else that have the word "paraben" like Methylparaben, butylparaben, propylparaben, sobutylparaben and ethylparaben that would ring an alarm bell in her head . EDTA and Paraben are preservatives that will leaves residue on skin and may even cause cancer.

Looks like the rosemary scent, mandarin orange scent and whatever in the three products came from the plant itself. Their products doesn't have any synthetic scent. Goody.

EnviroHome Body Wash

Yay! That evening itself I got to try out the Body Wash. This was the one that have the scent of rosemary.

No wonder, coz the list of ingredients apart from Aqua, Mineral Salts, Sea Water Extract, Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera Extract, Lemon Extract, Lavender Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil , it also have
Rosemary Oil.

What I Like :

-It have a refreshing scent. After using it, I don't feel as sleepy as when I got back home from school. Felt more alert .
-My body smell nicer too.
-easy to wash off from my body.

What I didn't Like :

Scolding from Mamarazzi for keep on pressing too much of the Body Wash liquid as I like to smell the scent.

 EnviroHome Laundry Detergent

I also got to be the first to use the Laundry Detergent as Mamarazzi wanted me to wash my own school uniform. She said I don't take care for the uniforms and made them so dirty. Hence, I had to handwash them. The instruction says  pour 25ml of EnviroHome Laundry Detergent into 5litres of water and mix well.

The good:-

I say :

-no stinky (mildew) smell when the uniforms were soaked overnight. Yeah...sometimes I wait 1 week then wash my school uniforms.
-easier to rinse coz not much bubbles to wash away

She says :

-the antifoaming agent reduces the need of using a lot of water to rinse away the residue of the detergent.
-saves water.
-the natural derives ingredients is gentle to the hands. She don't have to worry much about poison when I use it.
-love the Eucalyptus scent. Wondering if it would chase away the mozzie too.
-those with sensitive skin will like it as it's free from dye and perfume

The Bad

- I have to continue washing my own uniforms and school shoes.
-Can't play water coz no need to use much water.

EnviroHome Dish Wash

Uh......lucky this no need for me to do. Otherwise headache. Mamarazzi used it as this is what she said :-

The Good :-

-the mandarin orange scent.
-doesn't contain any synthetic materials. Safer for her to use.
-cleans well enough
-love the press and squirt nozzle. No need to hold slippery bottle.

The Bad:-
-Sometimes she accidentally pressed too hard, too much dish wash come out.

Overall, we love the three products given for us to review. It's easy to use and gentle to our hands and body. Mamarazzi like the chemical free concept and also that the product can easily be available through online store .

Saturday Night Fever and Flower Fever

Last Saturday Friday evening we went to Istana Budaya to watch Saturday Night Fever The Musical . Won two tickets from Baby Sumo's Blog, sponsored by Nuffnang. Thank you very much for the tickets!

It's my second time to Istana Budaya. Initially it was supposed to be for Saturday Matinee Show but the show time changed to Friday night instead.

Wah lau eh....even before the show starts, already very "kan cheong"(Suspense) coz Zoom zoom straight from my school to Istana Budaya. Never "mandi" (shower) at all, though a friend staying nearby did offer me the use of her bathroom.

Hmmm....it was raining cats and dogs just when the school bells rang. Guess I kinda got "natural shower" la.

Friday evening traffic plus heavy rain plus flooding...thanks to Papa's F1 driving, we manage to make it on time for the 8.30pm show.

Mamarazzi "tapau-ed" McD for me to eat in the car but I was too excited and just took a few bites. Managed to have a  Cat Nap in car. Woke up feeling grumpy.

Arrived there, collected our tickets and met a friend. Wah....so many Kor Kor and Jie Jie distributing Munchy's biscuits. Mamarazzi told me to take some just in case I hungry later.

Walk faster la Mamarazzi...So slow....later the show starts liao la.

Initially , wanted to buy one more ticket for Papa but when we went to Ticket Charge, most of the seats were fully booked.

Weird....8.30 pm but still many empty seats. .The show started late by around 10 minutes. Probably giving leeway to late comers due to the abnormal traffic condition that night.

Guess many couldn't make it on time for the show gua coz there were still many empty seats when the show started . For the first 15-20 minutes into the show, people were still coming in. Kinda disturbing with the door kept opening and closing but kesian them also la . Like me, they must have been looking forward to the show too

As there were still many rows of empty seats. Those of us who were seated at the last row, move up to the empty seats which were nearer to the stage.

I enjoyed myself very much  that evening. All the ladies in the house seems to oh-ah about the guy called Tony. But I love the lady in red and her partner doing the Latin dance. They were so energetic.

I was zombiefied when the show ended. Arrived home 1 a.m. and start snoring lo.

The next morning, time to go Funland. Got some of the Munchy's biscuits for my Funland friends

While I was in Funland, Mamarazzi caught Flower Fever pulak. She went browsing around the nursery in Sg Buloh . Looking for Kesidang flower/plant but too pricey at RM40. Yeah...she very stingy one.

Instead she got this Tuberose. RM10 only.

Wanted to get this bigger than palm size Bunga Raya but then it was RM25 a pot....oh well...maybe next time la.

Came home, found that one of her cheapo roses is flowering. This is one of the pot from the Lelong corner. RM5 for 3 pots.

Taobao - the One Stop Online Shopping Website

Taobao shop (which literally means the fact of searching for treasure on a website) is a Chinese website for online shopping: wholesale  or for individuals, whatever. It was coined by Alibaba Group in 2003, and based in China (do you see the link between the Tales of the Arabian Nights? When Alibaba finally finds the magical and gigantic cave with all the treasures and jewels? That's it!That's the point of assimilating the magical with everyday's life.) For European people, this website can be compared or associated with other wholesales websites as Ebay and/or Amazon and lots of other. If you are an adept of Youtube videos, you can easily see people who makes kind of reviews about Aliexpress (another website, presented by Alibaba Group and similar to Taobao), if you want to form your opinion about these websites.

Taobao is one of the marketplace which eases consumer-to-consumer trades, adding a platform for whether small and medium businesses or individual persons to open something which could be a sort of online store. It builds a kind of huge family and it brings together mainly Chinese-speaking consumers (Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, and abroad).

With around 760 million of products, Taobao Marketplace is one of the world¡¯s top 10 most visited websites, generally speaking. The positive point is that sellers are able to post goods for sale either through a fixed price or auctions, and buyers are truly kings! Indeed, you can see any background (bad ou good experience that someone else could have had: ratings, comments, complaints, or whatever you could imagine, you would be reassured by this system ...).

Within only two years after its creation, taobao  became China's market leader thanks to the quality of goods sold, in some. Taobao marketplace had more than 5 million registered users as of June 2013 and hosted more than 80 million product listing.

Talking in a more general way, the website gathers so many different items that you cannot even count them: clothes, accesories, shoes, beauty stuff, even toys or cars widget, whatever you will need, you are almost sure you will find it on it!

Besides, the interface of the website is colorful, pleasant and it does not appear cheap at any moment. This is well classified in order to find anything in just a few seconds. Australia, Canada, United States, and lots of other countries, so do not hesitate and please, order!

Bunga Tongkeng/夜来香 - Edible Flower

Oh my kucing! Mamarazzi really ? Gone crazy about flower ah? On Wednesday morning she went to the morning market and bought these.

Papa asked for what? She said the seller told her that these are edible flowers. The seller said it's called夜来香. Wah lau eh....luckily it is not called (poo).

Mamarazzi asked her gardening "kaki(s)" and they told her it's called Bunga Tongkeng/Bunga stokin/Chinese Violet/Tonkin Jasmine/Bunga Tangkal Ledang/Fragrant Telosma and the scientific name is Telosma Cordata.

When Papa heard the word Tongkeng he laughed and asked whether she knows what it meant or not. Of course she knows and the flowers doesn't have tongkeng ayam smell leh. In fact it has a sweet scent.

Her gardening members taught her a few recipes on how to cook this. Among that  :-

1) Cook soup- just some anchovies/mince meat/pork ribs, salt and egg with this.

2) Omelette

3) Stir fry with any kind of meat/minced meat or seafood like prawns and clams.

4) eat raw as "ulam".

Mamarazzi opt for stir fry with meat. Easy. Just slice the meat thin and marinate it with salt and soy sauce for half an hour. Chop some garlic. Put a bit of oil into the wok, fry the garlic till fragrant and add in the meat. When the meat are nearly cooked, just add the flowers. Done. Oh ya...just add a bit of salt to taste.

She asked me to be guinea pig taste wor but I said "no thanks". Papa tasted. Said nice. Last Mamarazzi taste. She said good also. Taste a bit like the stir fried lily bulb that she had in Cameron Highland. Only that these are not as sweet as the Lily Bulbs

Papa told Mamarazzi not to cook all. Leave some for him to eat as Ulam.

Eat as ulam taste sweeter than when it's cooked wor.

Yesterday she went to pasar (market) again; hunting for this flower. Lucky for her, yesterday there were two stalls selling this.

According to her gardening members, eating this flower is good for the eye sight. Feedback from her members is that now very hard to find this flower being sold in the wet market.

Came home ...made omelette.  Too stingy. Put too little  flowers coz she wanted to make soup pulak today.

Now she planning to plant this at home. Then harvest the flowers for cooking. Not bad leh....it would give out lovely scent and can be eaten . Just perfect leh. Gotta go to nursery in Sg Buloh to find liao.

So will you be joining this event? Am thinking of joining but...hmmmm...what shall I create? What is the best and most positively represent Malaysia?

Hmm.... My Cikgu gave me the Jalur Gemilang. Shall I build a 3D gigantic Jalur Gemilang? Cikgu told me that the 14 stripes and the 14 points on the star represent the 14 states in Malaysia. The star and the crescent moon also symbols that Islam is the National Religion here and the yellow are the colour for Royalty here. The unity of our people is represented by the blue canton while the equal width on the 14 stripes means that equal status in the federal government and the 13 members states.

But Mamarazzi asked me to built Hibiscus coz she is crazy about flowers it is our national flower and it represent the 5 National Principles -
  • BELIEF IN GOD
  • LOYALTY TO KING AND COUNTRY
  • SUPREMACY OF THE CONSTITUTION
  • RULES OF LAW
  • COURTESY AND MORALITY
. All these are very important, she said.

But....but....I like the Petronas Twin Towers. It made our country famous all over the world and visitors from all over the world come to visit Malaysia and to see the twin tower.

How about I build all 3? Nice or not? Sorry ya...My Play-Doh set doesn't have white color. Just imagine the white color of the paper is my white color Play-Doh lah. Is my design colourful? What do you think?

On second thought, I think I'll just submit this cup of truffles as what I think most represent Malaysia to me. Just like a cup of truffles, we  are a colourful community that came from many backgrounds and religion. We live in this little glass cup  called Malaysia in harmony and peace. Together we blended well and we are nice and sweet like truffles. You can never have too much of Malaysia.

Yes, this is what I think most represent Malaysia to me.

Massimo Junior Chef Workshop With Chef Nur Zamahuri

Mamarazzi was chatting with a friend last week, yakkitty-yak...somehow it ended up about this Massimo Junior Chef Workshop that was to be held last Saturday. Her friend saw it in KUNTUM Magazine.

Aiks! Mamarazzi must have missed that news. She check up in The Star newspaper  and Kuntum. True enough, saw the news.

She asked me wanna join or not and I immediately jump at the chance. Registered.

The night before, I was so excited. Can't barely sleep. Next morning woke up earlier and zoom zoom we drove to Massimo factory.

Aiks! I thought am early but there are some who are much earlier than me.

Saw the KUNTUM van is already there. KUNTUM is a magazine for school going children. This magazine have been in existence for more than 30 years, if Mamarazzi is not mistaken. She read that during her school days.

Fast fast snap a photo. Security very strict there. Cannot simply snap photo.

Was surprised that Massimo had prepared breakfast for the Participants of the workshop and the parents/teachers/guardian.

Following Malaysian time, the workshop started at 9am plus. After a short briefing, we were ushered into the Cooking Studio. Strictly no photography and video. Parents/guardians/teachers wait at the lounge and they can see us cooking through a glass window.

The above photo was taken at the lounge la.

We learn to make assorted canapes,  Truffle and Cheese Tarts using Massimo bread.

After making the first recipe, we had a short break. Wah.... my favourite....they served sausages, nuggets, sandwiches and drinks. So yummy. I told Mamarazzi I like the darker color sausages.

Pretty Jie Jie gave us a short briefing about the importance of having Breakfast. After that, they had a short Q & A session to see if we were paying attention of not.

Those who answered correctly, gets a prize. I was nervous as I know the answer in English but my brain can't seems to translate it into Bahasa Malaysia fast enough. End up using pakai hentam la...English also can la.

I wonder what's the prize.

Yay! everyone of the participants also managed to get the answer correctly and we all got a prize each.

I asked Mamarazzi why cover the face of the other participants ...and she said for Internet security and privacy. Cannot simply post up photo of other children online without their parents permission.

The ones with the ribbons on top are girls while the boys are without ribbons. Wah.....so many boys like me are not shy to go and cook in the kitchen leh.

One more photo with Si Comel, one of KUNTUM mascot.. Errr.....the Jie Jie behind camera shy kot.

Then off I went and continue "cooking"  the 2nd and 3rd recipe.

Jeng! Jeng! one and a half hour later....we all got our Certificate of Participation.

Thank you very much to KUNTUM magazine , The Italian Baker Sdn Bhd and Chef Nur Zamahuri for this wonderful workshop. Hopefully they will organise more of this in the future...seeing that we didn't kaboom-ed the kitchen.

One more photo with Si Comel

...and with Chef Nur Zamahuri.

Big goodies bag from Massimo....Think of bread...think of Massimo.

We get to "tapau" our "master piece" or rather in my case...pieces home. Got mess up along the way coz was rushing to second event.....was super duper late liao coz the workshop ran overtime.

Next stop......to meet up with some lenglui! Muahahahaha

After my Massimo Junior Chef Workshop which follows Malaysian Time, we fast fast zoom too to Kota Damansara pulak.

Super late for dating with Mamarazzi's Method kaki(s).  Tai Kar Jie(Big sister) said got Method sale in Sunway Giza and since long time the gang haven't meet-up, she suggested we have lunch at nearby cafe before popping over to "borong" stuffs from Method.

Tai Kar Jie very pandai oh. She choose this cafe as a meet-up point. It's a Cafe/Toy Shop/Collectibles Store.

Very unique Menu. Mamarazzi thought it's a comic and was looking for the "Menu".

Mamarazzi is "slow" lah. The real comic is in my hand . Got it from the counter. It's free reading for customers here while waiting for their food.

Hmm....I have to complain la. I haven't finish reading, my food arrived liao. So fast leh. Started off with mushroom soup.

Warm from the kitchen. Very nice to "celup-celup" my "roti" in.

Ah.....my favourite watermelon juice. No added sugar. Pure watermelon Juice.

While I "celup-ing" , this group caught my attention. You don't say me "four eyes" ah but my eyes very share one you know.

The Lady Boss' eyes also very share leh. She saw me eyeing the group and said they are playing the latest Japanese card game called  " Yo-Kai Watch Card Game"; and that I can join them if I wish.

Then came my Chocobo Burger(Chicken).

Woi! Tak aci ni! The Burger really not same as in the Menu leh. Clearly the case of  "For illustration purposes" leh. How come this Burger so big one compared to the one in the photo ? So much meat, vegetables and Cheese inside .

How to finish fast fast so that I can join the group play games ah?

Hmm...Maybe I eat the fries then pretend to be full liao then can go play first. Burger "tapau" home to eat la.

Mamarazzi was feeling adventurous. She had the "Yoda Soda". Mmmm....now you know why it's so green ya. Not coloring but blended Mint leaves. According to her it was very refreshing.

For her main, she had the Sugoi Smoked Duck Sesame Soba. Portion looks small here but actually it was the normal size. It's the plate that is big.

In fact she couldn't all of it. Had to ask Papa help to finish it but Papa also had his hands full...or rather mouth full.

Papa had the Lasagne

........and a piece of this yummylicious lamb chop...if not mistaken the name is Silence of The Lamb Chop. Glamour name leh. No wonder, Papa eat till speechless. How they make it so tender and without gamely smell ah?  Must try this Silence of the Lamb when you drop by this Cafe.

Papa this Iced Salted Caramel  drink. He likes it. Asked Mamarazzi to have a taste.

While they busy eating, I went "international roaming" . Aiyer.....how to get Papa and Mamarazzi to buy these toys for me ya?

Uncle Sherman! Look what I found! KING BOB! Nah....see...ask you to join us for makan, you busy pulak. Now you know where to get this King Bob ya.

Mamarazzi die die ask me to pose with this wall mural. She love it wor. Ahem ahem....actually I also love it la.

Lucky the owners didn't mind us snooping around and snapping photos

Roaming roaming ,..then some how I ended up here. Learning to play Yo-kai Watch The Card Game, one of the hottest game. And guess what....they gave me a demo pack and promo card for free. It seems that all participants of the Learn to Play session gets a demo pack and promo card FOR FREE

Mamarazzi's gang really Judgehead leh...some more can order Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich. Oppsss.....looks like Darth Vader also want a bite. The Cafe owner took out they toys for Mamarazzi's gang to play with. Aiyoyo....big kids lah.

Nice food...cozy environment...friendly faces...no wonder Tai Kar Jie said she kept coming back to this Cafe again and again though there are plenty of other makan place to choose from in the area.

After makan, the Method kaki(s) said it's time to go "borong" stuffs. I was enjoying myself too much to go off leh. So Papa stayed behind with me while Mamarazzi go "borong" stuffs.

The owners of the Cafe were happy-go-lucky and willing to pose for a photo for Mamarazzi and the gang. From left is Kor Kor Alvin. Heard Mother Geek , Sophia, called him Ah Boy. That's Sophia in the middle  while on the right is the Major Geek, Kor Kor Ben.

When Mamarazzi came back to collect me and Papa, I spotted this sign. Hmm.....now have to think of a way to "bodek" Papa and Mamarazzi to bring me here again.

Launch of ‘Immunisation Controversies: What You Really Need To Know’

Book on immunisation provides a comprehensive look into vaccinology to help parents and healthcare providers make informed decisions
18 Sept 2015, Kuala Lumpur...To curb rising concern and unfounded fears among parents who are choosing not to vaccinate their children, the Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia (IMAM), Islamic Medical Association & Network of Indonesia (IMANI) and MyHealth Outreach (MHO) launched a book titled ‘Immunisation Controversies: What you really need to know’, at the Shangri La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The launch, held in conjunction with the 37th Malaysian Paediatric Association (MPA) Congress and Asia Pacific Vaccinology Update, was attended by celebrity parents who shared their opinions on vaccination.
Undoubtedly, immunisation is among one of the medical interventions that has brought about tremendous improvements in health and quality of life for mankind. The recent years, however, has seen a rise in anti-vaccine sentiment fuelled by dubious internet sources.
This worrying trend is causing alarm among healthcare professionals and concerned parents, as dipping vaccine uptake in the general population would mean a return of childhood diseases such as diphtheria and measles that are almost eradicated.
“Where vaccinations are concerned, we are really victims of our own success,” declares Dato’ Dr Musa Mohd Nordin, a consultant paediatrician and neonatologist who is the editor-in-chief of the book. The Chairman of the Federation of Islamic Associations (FIMA) Advisory Council and former President of the Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia (IMAM) expressed concern that many parents are being misled into believing that some or all vaccines are unsafe, not Sha’riah compliant or will cause severe side effects.
The book follows an earlier version of the same title in Indonesian language, which saw sold-out success in the largest Islamic population in the world. “There is a lot of confusion and doubts among parents on the topic of immunisation, so the information provided was highly welcomed by the public and healthcare professionals. We are delighted to work with Malaysia’s IMAM to produce an improved version of the book in English for an international market,” says Dr Siti Aisyah Ismail, Foreign Affairs & Project Manager, Islamic Medical Association and Network of Indonesia (IMANI).

Chan Li Jin, a writer who has been covering medical news since 2003 and founder of MyHealth Outreach shares that she has seen many changes in parenting approaches in the last decade. “Today, vaccination is such a contentious issue because people tend to get agitated easily when the topic is broached. My favourite part of this book is where one of the writers mentioned that there should no divide between pro-vaxer or anti-vaxxer, because the ultimate aim is to give children the best healthcare possible. In reality, there is only one camp.”
One look at the content list shows a wide spectrum of important issues related to immunisations including medical facts, perspectives, opinions of distinguished personalities as well as an extensive FAQ section. Although peppered with Quranic verses and hadiths (sayings of the prophet Muhammad), the book is suitable for all audiences, including non-Muslims, as a reference point on vaccinology.

Marion Caunter, Vivy Yusuf and Vanida Imran, celebrity parents who were present at the launch, shared their own experiences with child vaccination and expressed appreciation for an insight into something that many modern parents take for granted.
Both mothers agree that prevention is the best approach to take where child health is concerned because a sick child can affect the entire family’s social, financial and emotional health, more so for life-threatening vaccine-preventable diseases such as meningitis and pneumococcal pneumonia.
There are already requests for the book to be translated into Arabic, Urdu, Hindi and other languages, while an e-book version is in the pipeline for digital readers.
‘Immunisation Controversies’ is retailed at RM38 (or USD10) and all proceeds of the book will be channelled to health educational programmes for children. The book can be purchased from selected hospitals, clinics and bookstores or via post.
Currently, the book is available at:
  • Dato’ Dr Musa Nordin’s clinic, Damansara Specialist Hospital
  • Datuk Dr Zulkifli Ismail’s clinic, Selangor Specialist Hospital
  • Klinik Pakar Kanak-kanak Yong at Mutiara Damansara
For updates on distribution points, to place a booking, purchase via post, or for further enquiries, please visit the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Immunisation Controversies or call Junainah Mohd Jaafar at 013-2761761.

Note : Yay! school holiday is here. Thought wanna "ponteng" blogging this week but received e-mail from the writer cumfounder of MyHealth Outreach, Chan Li Jin.
Well, most of you know one of my relative is a paed and she had advised Papa and Mamarazzi on my health since birth. There are so many pro-vaxer or anti-vaxxer out there and it is hard to decide which would it be. We are sure lucky to have good advice from my relative. However, there are many who may not have the opportunity. Hopefully, this book can help with some clarification.
Therefore, Mamarazzi have no hesitation when, Ms Chan Li Jin asked us to help to spread the news about this book. Moreover we are informed by Ms Chan , in her words"...the book is really a labour of love - all proceeds will be going to educational programmes for children and all of the editors and writers have contributed their time and money pro bono. All we wish is that parents and healthcare professionals will be able to make wise decisions for their children."
Wow.. Mamarazzi really salute those who are involved. Jia Yoh!
Oh ya...no need to look for comment box in this post as comments have been disabled. School holiday ma. Hopefully, readers out there who are interested in purchasing this book can visit the venue stated above or follow them in their Facebook.
